Welcome to Inspired Needle

January 4, 2009

Happy New Year! Whew, what a whirlwind couple of weeks I’ve had! I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and a peaceful ringing in of the New Year. We drove to spend some time with family in Pennsylvania for the week of Christmas. I heard I missed all kinds of weird weather here in Chicagoland!

So, before I forget to tell you again……open stitching night here at Inspired Needle Ltd every FIRST TUESDAY of the month. This open night will start this coming Tuesday, January 6th, from 6 to 9. I am here all day from 10 in the morning, so if you’re so inclined, come on in earlier and beat the crowds! I apologize for the short notice. I knew I was having the event, just thought I’d have more time over my Christmas break to type up some emails and newsletters and let every know well enough in advance! So, stop in and join with other stitching aficionados and let’s start out 2009 the right way! I will have coffee, tea, water and some light snacks on hand.

Don’t forget, if you’re in the neighborhood, January 10th will be the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Grand Opening of Inspired Needle Ltd. If you’re here, don’t forget to fill out a door prize slip to enter into the Grand Opening drawing. All month long you will have a chance to stop in and fill out a drawing slip. These slips will be collected and the actual winners will be drawn at the football you*know*what*kind*of*party on February 1st. I can’t use the official name, so I’m told, but the shop will be open from 1pm until 5pm while the men will be at home focusing their attention on the pre-game shows. Come on out for stitching time with your friends. We'll have our own fun here at the shop! There will be lots of prizes to be given away so stop by sometime this month and enter the drawing for a chance to win!

The first of Just Nan’s Over the Top tin series will be arriving shortly. If you haven’t seen this new tin, check it out on the NEW PRODUCTS page. On the outside of the tin are cheery red cardinals set against a snowy background. The top of the tin is the location to mount your stitched cardinal peeps. Finish it off with beautiful coordinating ribbon and cording and you have a wonderful piece for display through the snowy season. Tucked inside is a needlebook in the shape of a mitten. You can use it as an ornament on your Christmas tree next year or pop it in your stitching bag. Nan has designed 4 tins for this series, Snow, Grow, Spooky and Glow. I have a very limited number of tins being shipped to the store and most are spoken for already, so if you want to guarantee a set of tins for yourself, please call and let me know or order online with the shopping cart.

Other new items in the shop are the Just Another Button Co’s Cup O’ Tea for March. This set coordinates with last year’s teapot series and are a cute and quick stitch. Also, the Sam Sarah Baubles "C is for Cupcake" is in stock. This is the third design in her Alphabet Baubles series and is a very cute set of designs to stitch for yourself or as a gift.

If you love The Drawn Thread, you will find Cynthia’s latest designs, "Morning Glory" and "Moonlight Garden" in the shop.Morning Glory is a sweet floral-y, vine-y border surrounding an alphabet, 2-3/4" x 8-3/4", and is stitched in Silk N’ Color, Caron Waterlilies and Soie d’Alger. Moonlight Garden is larger, 9"x 18" and depicts a tranquil English Garden setting, with block path and "hedge" looking border surrounding the inner garden. White roses, dogwoods and lilies are named among the garden plantings. This design is stitched with Needlepoint Inc., Northern Lights and Dinky Dyes silks. These new designs can also be found on the NEW PRODUCTS page.

As always, may your needles be inspired!
